Why Your Website Is Not Showing on Google in Pakistan (Fix Checklist)

CortVista Team2026-09-2312 min read

You launched a website, shared it on WhatsApp, maybe even ran a few Facebook ads — yet when you search your business name in Google Pakistan, nothing useful shows up. Or worse: competitors appear and your site is invisible.

This checklist explains why a website is not showing on Google in Pakistan and what to fix first. It is written for Faisalabad clinics, textile suppliers, ecommerce sellers, tutors, and service businesses that need real indexing — not vague "SEO tips."

First: Confirm What "Not Showing" Means

Before changing anything, diagnose the symptom:

1. **Brand search fails:** Searching your exact business name does not return your site. 2. **Site: search fails:** `site:yourdomain.com` in Google returns zero (or almost zero) pages. 3. **Homepage exists but service pages do not:** Only one URL is indexed. 4. **Wrong URL ranks:** An old Hostinger parking page, Facebook page, or competitor sits where you expect your site.

Each case points to different fixes. Brand invisibility often means new domain + no Search Console + weak citations. Zero `site:` results usually mean crawl or index blocks. Partial indexing often means thin pages, noindex tags, or a broken sitemap.

1. Is the Domain Actually Live on the Public Internet?

Many Pakistani launches stall at DNS. Common patterns:

- Nameservers still on registrar parking (for example Hostinger parking DNS) while you think Vercel or another host is live. - Apex domain and `www` disagree — one works, one times out, or SSL fails on one hostname. - The site loads on your office Wi-Fi but fails on mobile data because DNS has not propagated or the wrong A record is cached.

Open the site in an incognito window on mobile data. Check both `https://yourdomain.com` and `https://www.yourdomain.com`. Pick one canonical host and redirect the other. Google prefers a clean, single preferred version.

2. Google Search Console: Your Source of Truth

If you have not verified the property in Google Search Console (GSC), do that today — preferably the Domain property so both www and apex are covered.

Then check:

- **Pages → Why pages aren't indexed** (or Coverage / Page indexing reports) - **Sitemaps** — is `sitemap.xml` submitted and readable? - **URL Inspection** on the homepage and key service pages - **HTTPS** and security issues

Request indexing only after blockers are fixed. Burning quota on a site that still returns soft-404s or noindex wastes days.

3. Robots.txt, Noindex, and Accidental Blocks

Open `https://www.yourdomain.com/robots.txt`. Look for `Disallow: /` or rules that block important folders. In WordPress, security or SEO plugins sometimes ship with "Discourage search engines" still enabled under Settings → Reading.

Also view page source (or use URL Inspection) for:

- `<meta name="robots" content="noindex">` - `X-Robots-Tag: noindex` headers from the host or CDN - Password protection or basic auth on staging that accidentally became production

A surprisingly large share of "website not showing on Google Pakistan" tickets are simply noindex left on after a redesign.

4. Sitemap, Canonicals, and Duplicate Host Chaos

Submit a clean XML sitemap that lists only canonical, 200 OK URLs. Avoid including:

- Parameter junk (`?fbclid=`, filter URLs) - HTTP duplicates when HTTPS is live - Both trailing-slash and non-trailing versions if your CMS creates both - Draft, thank-you, or cart pages

Canonical tags should point to the preferred www (or apex) HTTPS URL. If the live site prefers `https://www.cortvista.com`-style www and your canonicals still say the bare domain (or the reverse), fix that mismatch. Host mismatch slows trust and can fragment indexing signals.

5. New Site Reality: Google Needs Discoverable Signals

A brand-new domain with three thin pages and zero backlinks may take time — especially in competitive niches. Help discovery:

- Link the site from your Google Business Profile - Align Facebook, Instagram, and directory URLs with the same domain - Publish useful service pages (not only a homepage) - Share the URL on channels you already use (WhatsApp status is fine for humans; GSC + sitemap matter for Google) - Fix Core Web Vitals enough that the page is usable on Pakistan 4G

Do not buy random link packages. Focus on real citations and clear content first.

6. Content Quality: Thin Brochure Sites Struggle

Google rarely rewards a one-page site that only says "Welcome to ABC Traders — call now." For Faisalabad and Pakistan local businesses, create:

- Distinct service pages with proof (photos, process, areas served) - A clear contact page with NAP matching your Google Business Profile - FAQs that answer buyer questions in plain language - Urdu or bilingual support only if you can maintain quality — thin machine translation can hurt more than help

Indexation and ranking are related but not identical. Getting into the index is step one; ranking for competitive terms still needs relevance and authority.

7. Local Business Extra: Maps vs Organic Confusion

Owners sometimes say "we are not on Google" when they mean "we are not in the Map Pack." Those are different systems.

- **Organic web results** need a crawlable, indexed website. - **Google Business Profile / Maps** needs a verified listing with consistent NAP, categories, and engagement.

Fix both. A perfect website with no GBP still loses local phone calls; a perfect GBP with a blocked website loses trust clicks.

8. Practical 7-Day Fix Checklist

**Day 1:** Confirm live HTTPS on canonical host; fix DNS/SSL; remove parking pages.

**Day 2:** Verify Domain property in Search Console; submit sitemap.

**Day 3:** Remove noindex / robots blocks; re-inspect homepage.

**Day 4:** Align canonicals, redirects (apex ↔ www), and internal links.

**Day 5:** Strengthen homepage + top 3 service pages with unique copy and clear CTAs (call / WhatsApp / form).

**Day 6:** Update GBP website URL and social profiles to the canonical domain.

**Day 7:** Re-inspect key URLs; note remaining GSC exclusions; plan content for the next month.

Soft Next Step

If your site still will not appear after DNS, robots, and Search Console hygiene, the issue is often deeper: migration fallout, duplicate CMS environments, or a host that serves different content to Googlebot. FAQ

**How long until Google shows my new website?** Sometimes days for brand queries after clean discovery; often weeks for broader visibility. Competitive terms take longer.

**Does Facebook advertising help indexing?** Ads drive visits; they do not replace Search Console, sitemaps, and crawlable pages. Useful traffic is still good — indexing hygiene remains mandatory.

**Should I delete and recreate Search Console?** Almost never. Fix the site, then use URL Inspection and sitemaps. Recreating properties wastes history.

**Is Hostinger / shared hosting the problem?** Hosting can contribute (slow TTFB, misconfigured SSL), but most "not showing" cases are configuration and content issues — not the brand of hosting alone.

**What if only www works and apex fails?** Redirect apex → www (or the reverse) with proper HTTPS. Do not leave one hostname broken; Google and users will hit both.
